Hi everyone!
It is definately a different begining in Kitah Alef this year!
We are all working togerher on keeping distance and helping each other by being respectful of each other’s space, keeping our masks on, using only the tools asigned to us and so much more. Every day we come across new situations that require ‘covid time sollutions’ and together, we figure it out… We definately have to be creative in our thought.
So far, our Kitah Alef students are demonstarting kindness, patience, respect, curiousity, and so much more that makes it a joy learn together.
We created a kindness web in a cursive Alef to remind us to always be kind… and we are already practicing acts of kindness in class and in our OJCS community…
We heard that Kitah Gimel really wanted to play on the structures so we offered to switch spaces with them on Fridays… It was so nice to see how happy we made them today.
We are slowly getting into our routines and are looking forward to meeting you all on our virtual Back to School Night and tell you some more about our year.

Next Friday we will all be participating in the Maccabiah Games. Below is some information you will need ahead of time. There will be more instructions coming your way about how to navigate the GooseChase app. It will be an awesome event filled with RUAH and FUN!!

The day will be a mixture of team meetings on Google Meet (links will be on our regular class schedule) and a series of missions on the app GooseChase. This is an event for the whole family! Parents and siblings can all play together! Please let Morah Ann-Lynn know if your child is NOT going to be playing with a parent or older sibling so we can team them up with an older student or teacher.

What a fun start to our day.
We will definitely need to continue cooking/baking together during our distance learning together.
My husband had so much fun joining us and together with you, the students and their parents, learn Ivrit while making charoset for Pesach.
A few of you already toldwrote me you will make it again during the holiday.
Now put your thinking caps on, what other simple recipes would you like to make together? If you have an idea let me know in the comments or email me the recipe (Try to figure out the words for the ingredients in Hebrew).

Hi Kita Alef,
I am so proud of how you are all managing to continue learning from home these days.
You are such a wonderful group of children and your ability to make others happy shines through with your little acts of kindness towards each other (your patience during our Google Meet, contacting each other to chat), your family (Helping your siblings and your parents), your teachers (sharing your thoughts and working together) and your community (like the pictures we sent Hillel Lodge Residents)..
The pictures made them very very happy. Knowing we thought of them at this time meant so much to them.
